Danang City is situated at the centre of Vietnam, 759km from Hanoi and 960km from Ho Chi Minh City. Conveniently, it lies on the north-south communications axis of land route (National Road 1A), rail, sea and air routes. Danang borders Thua Thien - Hue Province in the north, Quang Nam Province in the south and the west, and the Eastern Sea in the east.

1.1 - Danang - The powerhouse of growth and development for the Central Region
Danang plays a crucial role as the growth engine of the Key Economic Zone in Central Vietnam, and giving the impetus to the socio-economic growth of the Central Region and the Central Highlands.

1.2 - Danang - The Eastern Gateway of the East- West Economic Corridor
Danang Port is the Eastern Gateway to the EWEC, acting as the access point for the Pacific Ocean of the virtually untapped hinterland of Laos, Northeast Thailand, Myanmar and Central Vietnam.
2. Developed physical infrastructure and investment support services
Danang Port is the well-equipped container port in the Central region, and one of the biggest commercial ports in Vietnam. In the past 5 years, the average growth rate of the volume of goods coming through the port was 13.4% per annum. From Danang Port, there are currently many direct international shipping lines to Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Europe, America and other countries in the world. Also, Danang Port is an ideal destination for tourist ships.
2.2 - Danang International Airport
Danang International Airport, less than 10 - minute drive from the city centre, is one of the three best airports and the third busiest terminal in Vietnam. The new three - storey terminal on an area of 36,600m2 has enabled it to meet the standards of the International Aviation Transport Association and accommodate 4 - 6 million passengers per year.
2.3 - Road System
The road system inside and outside the city has been continually expanded and newly built to facilitate the transportation and tourism development as well as create the avenue which to transform the appearance of the most crowded urban area in Central Vietnam.
Danang – Quang Ngai Highway- 130km long and 26m wide,is planned to be built in 2013 in order to facilitate cargo transportation and economic development in the region.
2.4- Post and telecommunication service
Danang is an important telecommunication hub of the country and in the world. It is also one of the three most important end points of the national trunk network and the international direct connecting point. The ICT infrastructure in Danang is of large scale and up-to-date. Diverse, plentiful and high quality services are available.
2.5 - Power and Water Supply
Power for production and domestic use in Danang is supplied from the national North-South 500KV high voltage grid.
The city's water supply works has a total existing capacity of about 205,000m3 per day. It will reach 396,300m3 per day by the year 2020 as planned.
2.6 - Support services for investment
Banking, financing, insurance and logistics services are increasingly developed in Danang to meet a wide range of business ventures and investment. There are 59 banks and bank branches with 233 offices, 30 insurance companies, 14 auditing companies, and more than 54 warehousing and freight forwarding agents in Danang now.

Danang has experienced continual and stable economic growth in line with progress made in social life, advanced infrastructure and better urban planning. GDP grew at an average rate of 11% in the period 2006-2010, and at a rate of 9.1% in 2012, and 7.7% in 2013.
Major industrial products consist of seafood, textile and garments, footwear, mechanical products, building materials, fine-arts handicrafts, and so on. The city's government is now focusing on developing high-tech indútríe, in particular the ICT industry, to be one of the key industries of high economic efficacy.
4. Rich tourism potential
Danang has 70km of beautiful coastline, bathed with sunshine for much of the year. My Khe Beach in Danang was included in thetop 10 beaches in Asia as reported by the Sunday Herald Sun(Australia). In 2012, My Khe beach was recognized as one of the most luxurious beaches in the world by Forbes magazine (US).
5. Plentiful and educated human resources
The workforce of Danang accounts for nearly 50% of the city population. Annually thousands of personnel are trained in universities and professional and vocational secondary schools in Danang to meet the demand for manpower not only for the city but also for the central region. The labor costs in Danang are lower than that in other big cities in Vietnam.

Danang was ranked number one in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) Survey in 2008, 2009 and 2010 among all cities/provinces in Vietnam. Established by the Danang People's Committee, Danang Investment Promotion Center (IPC DANANG) is responsible for promotion, attraction and facilitation of domestic and foreign direct investment into Danang City. The Danang Industrial and Export Processing Zone Authority (DIEPZA) is an entity under the People's Committees of Danang in performing the function of State management directly to industrial zones in the city and providing public administrative services and other support services related to investment and production business for investors in industrial parks.
